「Regarding the Special Press Conference by the Saga’s Governor」

May 6, 2020

On May 4, the Japanese government has decided to extend the state of emergency until the 31st of May.

In light of this decision, Governor Yamaguchi of Saga Prefecture announced the following.

① In Saga Prefecture, companies and shops may reopen from Thursday, May 7.
* However, we ask entertainment facilities where staff members accompany customers (such as snack bars and nightclubs) to remain closed until Wednesday, May 20.

② Saga’s Prefectural facilities (e.g. the Prefectural Library, Yoshinogari Historical Park) will reopen from Monday, May 11.

③ Schools in Saga Prefecture will reopen from Thursday, May 14.

④ Entertainment facilities where staff members accompany customers (such as snack bars and nightclubs) may reopen from Thursday, May 21.

We also continue to call upon all residents to take the following three measures to prevent infection with COVID-19:

・ Please refrain from going to other prefectures, such as Fukuoka.
・ When going out, wear a mask and avoid the 3 “densities” (poorly ventilated spaces, crowds and close contact).
・ When you get home, wash your hands and face before doing anything else

Lastly, Governor Yamaguchi said the following:
”New cases of COVID-19 are still emerging within Saga prefecture. We must not let our guard down, and put our full effort into dealing with this crisis.”
