August 14 The 3rd Disaster Response Headquarters Meeting

The 3rd Disaster Response Headquarters Meeting was held at 9:00 am, August 14, with the attendance of the Governor.

 

Saga Prefecture is experiencing continuous heavy rainfall. Please continue to be vigilant against heavy rain, floods and landslides.

・Emergency Safety Measures (Alert Level 5: life-threatening situation, immediately ensure your own safety): 13 municipalities

Saga City, Yoshinogari Town, Ogi City, Tosu City, Taku City, Takeo City, Kashima City, Ureshino City, Kanzaki City, Arita Town, Omachi Town, Kohoku Town, Shiroishi Town

 

・Evacuation Instruction (Alert Level 4: all residents are to evacuate from dangerous areas): 7 municipalities

Karatsu City, Imari City, Kiyama Town, Kamimine Town, Miyaki Town, Genkai Town, Tara Town

 

*182 evacuation centers have been opened throughout the prefecture, in each city and town

 

Beware of the following:

(1) Flood: When the water level of a river or irrigation canal rises due to heavy rain, the boundary between the road and the river may become unclear. Move away from rivers as soon as you can, and evacuate to higher ground. Do not approach rivers with heightened water levels.

〇 14 rivers are at risk of flooding

・Saga City: Kose River, Sagae River

・Takeo City: Takahashi River, Matsuura River, Rokkaku River

・Ogi City: Fukushoe River, Ushizu River, Haruke River

・Taku City: Ushizu River

・Kanzaki City: Jobaru River

・Miyaki Town: Zuuse River, Shozu River

・Arita Town: Arita River

・Ureshino City: Shiota River

(2) Landslides: Because it has already rained a lot, and even a small amount of rain could cause landslides anywhere in the future. Immediately move away from mountains, cliffs and slopes, etc. and take action to ensure your safety.

(3) Even after the rain has subsided, it will repeatedly get more intense again. Please remain vigilant until the 18th of August.
