The Governor of Saga Prefecture has issued “emergency measures to protect the healthcare system.”

(Up to date as of 15:00, August 18, 2021)

Today, COVID-19 infections in Saga Prefecture have reached a record high of 182 cases. 90% of infected people are 40 or younger.

○ The following is a summary of the emergency measures.

① Recovery at home for asymptomatic patients or patients with mild symptoms, which was not needed until now.

② Shortening the business hours of restaurants:

・ We request that all restaurants in the prefecture shorten their business hours.
・ Business hours:           Until 20:00 in Karatsu City Center

Until 21:00 elsewhere in the prefecture

・ Duration: August 20th (Fri.) until August 31st (Tue.)

○ A message from the Governor

・ The Delta strain causes many infections and spreads fast. If you have any symptoms at all, even a slight fever, please refrain from going out.
・ I ask citizens of the prefecture to show self-restraint in their actions.
・ We can only overcome this if we work as one “Team Saga”.

Please remember to practice basic preventative measures in your daily life, such as hand washing, wearing a mask, ventilating regularly, and avoiding the three C’s.
